Experienced music executive Christopher Roberts is the former president of the Classics and Jazz Division at Universal Music Group. Since leaving Universal Music, Chris Roberts has assumed responsibilities as an artistic advisor with the Gilmore, a keyboard music award-granting organization that also sponsors the Irving S. Gilmore International Keyboard Festival.
In March of 2016, the Gilmore plans to hold a series of family concerts at schools and community centers in the Kalamazoo, Michigan, area. The Gilmore Family Concert series will feature world-class pianist Terrence Wilson, who will deliver seven 50-minute concerts accompanied by visual displays. Wilson will play a number of selections from such famous works as Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet, Bernstein’s West Side Story, and Stravinsky’s Petrushka.
The Gilmore Family Concert series will kick off on Thursday, March 17, with a morning in-school concert at Linden Grove Middle School. On Sunday, March 20, Friendship Village will host a concert for retired community members and their families.
